Details: Made from the leaves of the curry tree, this is a highly aromatic spice that can be added to curries, rice dishes, vegetable sides, soups and even drinks.
When cooking with curry leaf powder use it in the early frying process (with other aromats) to bring out the flavour and pungency. Don’t overdo it. There are a lot of curry leaves in this little jar so use it sparingly to start with.
Although curry leaves have a flavour that hints of curry powder, they are not the same. Curry leaves have a distinct earthy herbal citrus flavour and cannot be used as a substitute for the more common blend of herbs and spices we know as curry powder.
Most commonly known for it’s use in Sri Lankan, South Asian, Malaysian, and South Indian cuisines, it can be added to a wide range of dishes.
